WHAT KINDS OF CLIENTS DO YOU WORK WITH?
Most of the clients I work with are fall into one of the following categories:
- Large companies,
- Mid-sized companies wanting to become large companies,
- Well funded start-ups.
I have extensive experience in not only SEO, but also Web site management, marketing & advertising, strategic planning, and brand development – which is a background that lends itself best to working with large- and mid-sized companies. Also, most of the companies I work with already have an internal SEO manager or SEO team, but that is not always the case.
If you are a large company that wants to take your rankings to the next level – or a mid-sized company wanting to be a large company – chances are I can help, so drop me a note.
DO YOU OPERATE INDEPENDENTLY?
Not entirely. I am the main point of contact, and do the majority of work. But I sometimes get trusted individuals involved to develop certain portions of a given assignment, e.g. preliminary keyword research. These “emerging experts” are people I’ve either trained myself, or worked with in the past, so I know what they can do.
Work done by my emerging experts is always reviewed, and edited or changed as necessary. Clients are always made aware if someone else is involved in any part of their project.
HOW ARE YOUR FEES STRUCTURED?
Most work is either project-based (e.g., Site Audit and Recommendations), or retainer-based. Either way, you get a dedicated and very senior advisor, and you pay only for the work you need. If you don’t need it, I don’t do it, and you don’t pay for it.
See the SEO Services page for more information.
DO YOU TAKE ON PURE LINK DEV PROJECTS?
No. When I do link dev for a client, it’s only as part of a larger project. If your site simply needs more links, you’re better off seeking out someone who is set up to work primarily on link development services.
WHERE DID THE ‘CAVEMAN’ NIC COME FROM?
“Caveman” is my nic at WebmasterWorld, where I help moderate the Search Engine Promotion & Marketing forum.
It had nothing to do with Captain Caveman, the caveman commercials, Ringo’s take on cave people, caveman DNA, or even search DNA for that matter.
The “caveman” nickname came from the fact that I like to keep things simple – and when it comes to SEO, so do my clients! So having “caveman” as a nickname is a reminder that when things start to seem too complicated, it’s time to get some clarity.
Search engine marketing is a good example of that…the search and social media environments seem to get more complex and fragmented every day. But the solutions I provide to clients don’t have to be.
My job is to take an increasingly complex situation, and derive from it a set of executable plans that are so simple, well, you know. ;-)
